The Huron Emery

This is where I got my start with writing. At the Emery I learned about AP Style, the art of interviewing, photography basics, and basic Adobe programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Audition. The Emery is where I fell in love with sports journalism, loving the pace of the newsroom, and the constant action. My advisor Sara-Beth Badalamente was extremely impactful in my initial growth not only as writer, but as a person. I owe a lot to her for where I am today. One of my biggest contributions to the Emery is its' still running "Humans of Huron" series. This was a project that was envisioned on a whiteboard, and took off, becoming one of the main ways the Emery produces constant content.
